Buying and Selling Homes in a Pandemic

HOME. It’s where all our stories begin. Everyone has a vested interest in the real estate market and the current pandemic has made real estate all the more intriguing.

We were quarantined in our homes for at least two months and are gently and gradually venturing out. Families were and still are eating meals together...at the dinner table... playing games together, getting to know each other without outside interference.

Electronics play a large role now; and more than ever people have been online house hunting.

Did you find yourself “stuck” in a small space during these last few months or did you realize you just don’t need that much space? Living in a big city and want more space? It’s been very eyeopening for many of us. And as a Realtor my phone is blowing up with people looking to move into bigger/ smaller homes. It’s a phenomenon I never expected.

Selling homes during this pandemic has created challenges none of us have ever experienced. Technology has improved and enhanced our business. Our team have listed more than a dozen homes since the first of March and I have yet to step foot in any of them. It’s all done electronically. Virtual tours, matter-port/3D pictures and allowing limited days for showings and providing CDC guidelines for the safety of the sellers and that of the buyers. Kurtz & Company has sold over $17 million in volume in March, April and May, June and are still going strong.

Keller Williams created and has provided a new platform called Command. This platform provides the agents and their clients with the tools to search the internet via an app on their phone that is more comprehensive than any other internet house search site. THERE’S AN APP FOR THAT...rings true for me for sure. The app gives you real time information and instantly. The user can communicate with me as soon as they see a home for sale and we can move quickly on the information.

The current real estate market is ON FIRE with very few listings and when they go on the market if they are priced right and show well they don’t last more than a few days and our sellers are thrilled we are getting them asking price and sometimes higher. I anticipate this will last through the summer and well into the fall season. Pent up demand is keeping me and my team at Kurtz & Company on our toes and that is just the way we like it.

Kurtz & Company has 13 agents including myself poised and ready to help you navigate this exciting market. Don’t be shy, give me a call. You know I will take great care of you and your family.
